This week, the Minister for Housing and Planning, Rachel Maclean MP, confirmed that Rushmoor Borough Council's bid to the Government's Brownfield Land Release Fund 2 has been successful
The £180m fund was introduced by the Government to help fund local authorities turn former industrial sites, disused car parks and derelict buildings into new places for people to live and enjoy.
Commenting, Leo said: "Great to see that Rushmoor Borough Council has been successful in its bid. Rushmoor will be investing this money to spur on the regeneration of Farnborough Town Centre.
"I wrote to Ministers championing Rushmoor's bid earlier this year and was delighted to see today that the council has been granted just over £1.7m."
